The Best Italian Leather Bags Under €150: Five Pieces That Work From Morning to Evening
At this price, a bag shouldn't be a fleeting trend. It should be the one you reach for on a Monday at the office, a Saturday at the market and a Friday dinner — genuine Italian leather that looks as good in five years as it does today, without a logo doing the talking. That is the standard we used to choose the five designs below, all handmade in Italy by the family workshops we have worked with for nearly twenty years. The pieces below start from €67.50.
What should a leather bag under €150 actually do?
It should earn its place every day. Before recommending anything, we looked at four things that decide whether a bag becomes a favourite or ends up at the back of the wardrobe:
- A leather that ages well. Real Italian leather with a finish chosen for how it wears — not a coating that peels. If you'd like to understand the difference, our guide to Italian leather finishes explains each one.
- Range across your day. A calm, timeless shape in a colour that works with what you already own, so the same bag suits a meeting, a school run and an evening out.
- The right capacity. Enough room for what your day really involves — a laptop, a water bottle, or just your phone and keys — without extra bulk.
- Honest care. Some finishes ask for almost nothing; others ask for a little attention in return for more character. We tell you which is which.

Liali: the slim shopper for laptop days and gallery nights
The Liali is our answer to the heavy, shapeless tote. Its tall silhouette — just 6 cm deep — holds a 13–15" laptop, A4 documents or a portfolio and keeps them flat, while sitting close to your side instead of swinging out. An exterior zip pocket keeps your phone within reach, and the long shoulder strap sits comfortably over a winter coat as easily as over a blazer. It weighs 625 g in pebbled leather and 655 g in suede.
What makes it versatile is the choice of two finishes. In Pebbled Dollar leather it is almost carefree: the grain shrugs off scuffs and only needs a wipe with a soft cloth. In suede — a soft suede body framed by pebbled leather handles and trim — it becomes more tactile and quietly evening-ready. Across both, there are nine colours, from black and chocolate to dusty pink and dark red.
Worth knowing: the slim shape is its strength, so it suits flat items better than bulky ones. For a gym bag's worth of things, look at the Liforela.
"Beautiful Italian craftsmanship and timeless elegance! As someone who loves quality materials — especially bags — I'm critical, but this Liali exceeded my expectations." — Emelian
Aiga: two textures in one everyday shoulder bag
The Aiga is built from two faces: one in soft, tactile suede, the other in durable pebbled leather. Wear the suede side outward for a warmer, relaxed look, or turn the pebbled side out when the day calls for something more structured. It is the kind of detail you only find by looking closely — no logo needed.
With room for your daily essentials and an adjustable shoulder strap, it moves easily from errands to lunch to a weekend away. It comes in five colours: black, chocolate, marron, taupe and burgundy.
Worth knowing: the suede face appreciates a protector spray before first use and a suede brush now and then; the pebbled face simply needs a soft, damp cloth.
"Beautiful quality and ideal for everyday use! I'm so happy with my new Aiga in black — it's even more beautiful than in the photos. The front is lovely suede and the back is beautiful soft leather. A big plus is the adjustable shoulder strap, so the bag always hangs at the right length. The Aiga is roomy, stylish and the finishing is excellent." — Anna, on Trustpilot (translated from Dutch)
Liforela: the roomy shopper that carries your whole day
When your day includes a laptop, a notebook, a water bottle and everything else, the Liforela is the one. It fits a 15" laptop, can be carried by its top handles or on the shoulder, and slides onto the handle of a travel trolley. It works as a smart alternative to a traditional changing bag for parents on the go.
Choose the suede and leather mix for texture and warmth (black, chocolate or burgundy), or the fully Pebbled Dollar version for a more structured, low-maintenance bag (black, chocolate, navy or taupe) — seven colours in total.
Worth knowing: generous capacity comes with some weight (around 820 g empty), so it is at its best as a work and travel bag rather than an evening piece.
Neivan: a hand-woven handbag that is different from the rest
If you want one piece that feels special every time you pick it up, this is it. The Neivan is made from aniline (Napa) leather that is cut into strips, woven by hand and then washed as a finished piece — a process that gives it a soft, lived-in patina from the very first day. We explain why this technique is so rare in our guide to woven leather bags.
It is compact but not tiny, and comes with both a shoulder strap and an adjustable crossbody strap, so it moves from a morning in the city to a gallery opening to a travel day without changing bags. Choose from black, taupe, khaki green and burgundy.
Worth knowing: aniline (Napa) leather has almost no protective coating, which is exactly why it looks so rich — and why it appreciates a good leather cream now and then and a place in its dust bag when you're not carrying it.
Nafen: the small structured bag for your evenings
Every wardrobe needs one small, polished bag, and the Nafen is ours. Its structured box shape closes with gold-tone magnetic clasps, and you can carry it by the top handle or on the long chain strap — for a wedding, a dinner, a cocktail party or a business meeting where you only need the essentials.
It comes in Ruga (matte calfskin) — flat, smooth and semi-matte — in black, burgundy, taupe and beige cream, or in Pebbled Dollar leather in black, navy and burgundy.
Worth knowing: it holds your phone, keys and cards — not much more. That is exactly the point.
"Absolutely love this bag. It looks even better in real life than in the photos. Perfect size for essentials like my phone, cards and keys." — Sophie
Why are these bags under €150?
Because the price reflects the leather and the craftsmanship, not a logo. Every piece carries the same "genuine leather, made in Italy" classification you would find in far more expensive bags. The difference in price usually comes from what is added around the leather — branding, flagship stores and layers of middlemen — which we simply leave out. We explain this in more detail in what "genuine leather" really means. We believe every woman deserves a beautiful leather bag without breaking the bank.

Frequently asked questions
Is €150 enough for a good Italian leather bag? Yes. Real Italian leather at this price is possible when a brand skips logo markups and extra middlemen. Look for a named finish, such as Pebbled Dollar, suede, aniline (Napa) or Ruga (matte calfskin), rather than a vague "leather look" description.
Which leather needs the least care? Pebbled Dollar leather. Its textured grain hides small scuffs and only needs a wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Suede and aniline (Napa) look richer but ask for a little more attention, such as a protector spray or an occasional leather cream.
Which bag fits a laptop? The Liali holds a 13–15" laptop in a slim shape, and the Liforela fits a 15" laptop with room for much more. For everyday essentials without a laptop, the Aiga is the easiest all-rounder.
What is the best leather bag for evenings and events? The Nafen, a small structured bag with a top handle and chain strap, made for phone, keys and cards. If you want something with a little more room that still feels special, the hand-woven Neivan works from day into evening.
How do I choose a colour that lasts? Black, chocolate and taupe work with almost everything and never date. If you already own a neutral bag, a deeper shade such as burgundy, marron or dark red adds warmth to autumn and winter outfits without feeling like a trend.
